“Certain people, in their eagerness to construct a world no external threat can penetrate build exaggeratedly high defense against the outside world, against new people, new places, different experiences and leave their own world stripped bare. It is there that bitterness begins irrevocable work.” Paulo Coelho
I've got each of these songs on my MP3 player! I remember listening to The Ventures on my uncles 8-track back in the early 70's. They shared a nine-foot Hobie surfboard and spent many days down on the beach at Pawleys Island, South Carolina catching the tiny ass waves there. In fact that Hobie was a freaking tank, while the skag broke long ago I even used the thing in the 1980's up until 1992 when I finally bought my own board.
Don't know where the Hobie ended up, its probably destroyed.
Mine was a Dewey Weber 8 ft, like walkin the sidewalk. Just right for a guy with no coordination trying to surf the 4 and 5 foot waves from Torrance Beach north to Venice Beach in California Disappeared while I was in boot camp almost 40 years ago, haven't ridden since. But the music will never go away.
Hell Yeah!
